The Art of Autonomous Decision Making: How This Startup Founder Built a Thriving Company

Entrepreneurship is not for the faint-hearted, but with resilience and passion, anything is possible. This is the story of a young man from Bulgaria, who at the age of 27 co-founded a market that ended up being the best-performing market for a company. He later went on to become CEO of the same company at the age of 30. This was just the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey. In this post, we will take a closer look at the story of this young entrepreneur and how he started his company, Contento.tech.

The founder of Contento.tech, Eva Vucheva, started his career in Bulgaria working for a local digital product in a media company called Neto. He was responsible for two of their biggest products, one of which was Vbox seven, the Bulgarian version of YouTube, which was much bigger than YouTube at that time. He worked for this company for two to three years before getting approached by a company that was looking to launch the Bulgarian market. He co-founded this market and it ended up being the best-performing market at the company. Later on, he became the CEO of the same company after it was sold to Naspers in 2012, and he managed it for another two years.

After leaving Fashion Days, where she was the co-CEO, Eva Vucheva wanted to take a break and do nothing for a while. However, a friend approached her with an idea for a service that was needed, and he started working on it as a favor to his friend. This idea later became Contento.tech. The company started as an eCommerce supplier of services, focusing on data management for product descriptions, known as data stewarding.

One of the main goals of Contento.tech was to create a company that did not necessarily have an office or working hours. Ivaylo wanted to experiment with the idea of creating a fluid company structure that would allow people to be autonomous in decision-making. This was a struggle at first, but eventually, they figured out a way to make it work. However, they had to develop a structure that would allow people to be autonomous, and they had to ensure that people could make decisions and move forward in their daily activities.

Contento.tech started with a team of 5-6 people, and Ivaylo had planned it to stay that way until they reached 40 people. However, they now have a team of 60 people, and it still works. They had to develop some structure to allow people to be autonomous in decision-making, which was a challenge at first. They also learned the hard way that not everyone can fit into this type of environment, and that hiring the wrong people can lead to high turnover rates. They had to take a step back and reconsider the hiring process to ensure that they hired based on the specific requirements that would allow people to work and deliver their best within the structure that they have.

Contento.tech primarily serves the eCommerce industry and all sorts of digital transformation processes. They started as an eCommerce supplier of services, focusing on data management for product descriptions. They have since expanded to include other services such as content creation and optimization, customer support, and quality assurance. They have worked with clients such as Adidas, Zara, and Mango, among others.

In conclusion, Eva Vucheva's story is a testament to the fact that entrepreneurship is not for the faint-hearted. With resilience and passion, anything is possible. Starting a company from scratch is not easy, but with hard work and perseverance, it is possible to build a successful business. Contento.tech is an excellent example of how a company can be successful while also providing its employees with a flexible and autonomous working environment.
